Why Trees?
Trees play a crucial role in regulating the Earth’s climate by absorbing carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases. Deforestation and other forms of forest degradation have contributed significantly to climate change, leading to increasingly severe weather patterns and other environmental problems. One Tree Planted’s mission is to reforest the world, planting trees in areas that have been devastated by deforestation, natural disasters, and other human activities. By donating to One Tree Planted, you can help restore the health of our planet, reduce carbon emissions, protect wildlife habitats, and ensure a sustainable future for generations to come. Every tree planted makes a difference, and your donation can have a significant impact on the health and well-being of our planet.
Trees help clean the air we breathe. Through their leaves and bark, they absorb harmful pollutants and release clean oxygen. In urban environments, trees absorb pollutant gases like nitrogen oxides, ozone, and carbon monoxide, and sweep up particles like dust and smoke.
Trees play a key role in capturing rainwater and reducing the risk of natural disasters like floods and landslides in our residential areas. Their intricate root systems act like filters, removing pollutants and slowing down the water’s absorption into the soil.
A single tree can be home to hundreds of species of insect, fungi, moss, mammals, and plants. Depending on the kind of food and shelter they need, different forest animals require different types of habitat. Without trees, forest creatures would have nowhere to call home.
